Marcella Nelson is the principal and
founder of Breakthrough Coaching and
Consulting, which provides
business
and career coaching,
organizational
consulting, and
training services to
corporate and individual clients.
Marcella works with business leaders
and teams, entrepreneurs and
professionals to remove barriers to
success and accelerate the
achievement of business and career
goals.
Prior to founding Breakthrough,
Marcella had over 20 years
experience as a corporate executive
and member of the senior management
team of several international
companies in a variety of
industries, including on-line
information services, high tech,
manufacturing and health care. As
Vice President of Human Resources,
Marcella has been a key member of
the executive team setting global
organizational strategy and leading
organizations through significant
change, including rapid growth,
acquisitions, leadership changes,
and downsizing.
Marcella’s focus as a corporate
leader and as an internal/external
coach and consultant has been on
organizational, team and leadership
development; organization design and
restructuring; change management;
career development; team
facilitation; executive coaching;
strategic Human Resources
management; organizational dynamics;
and creating corporate cultures
which support business goals. She
has rebuilt several executive teams
and served as the executive coach/
facilitator to ensure the teams
effectively worked together to
achieve the organization’s goals.
Marcella is a graduate of Smith
College, has completed the Strategic
Human Resource Management
program at the Harvard Business
School and MBA coursework at Babson
College. She is trained
as a business coach by Corporate
Coach University. She is also a
certified Retirement coach.
She is a member of the national and
New England chapters of the
International Coach Federation
and of the Society for Human
Resource Management. She has led
courses and workshops on a variety
of leadership and career topics at a
number of colleges, corporations,
and community/business
organizations. Her client list
includes companies and individuals
in financial services, health care,
high tech, software development,
education, sales and manufacturing.
